Our museum day thanks to blue star museum initiative


Well I found about this great program for military to get in free to museums across the US there are over 900 museums in the 50 states and the district of Columbia that are participating the blue star initiative.

What is Blue Star Museums?

Blue Star Museums is a program that offers free admission to museums for all active duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day, May 31, through Labor Day, September 6, 2010

Who is eligible? The free admission program is available to any bearer of a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), a DD Form 1173 ID card, or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card, which includes active duty military (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard), National Guard and Reserve members and up to five immediate family members.

We have only taken advantage of this once but i plan to see every museum in or around my area. we took the kids to the Children's museum of Tacoma . they had a blast it was all hands on i couldn't tear them away from it. it was a great learning experience for them and us.
