In 1994, a young pharmacist became increasingly aware that parents were looking for products designed specifically for infants and children that addressed various childhood discomforts such as runny noses, colds, gas, constipation, and teething. The parents wanted products that were free of unnecessary additives such as saccharin, alcohol, artificial flavors, dyes, and harmful preservatives often found in popular, brand name products. They also wanted products that were safe, gentle, effective, and easily administered.
After thorough research, the young pharmacist realized — much to his surprise — that there were few, if any, currently available products that fit these criteria. Armed with this information, he began to develop products that would address these needs and make it all better for parents and their children. Thus, Little Remedies® was born.
I'm sure most of you are familiar with Little Remedies brand of non medicated and medicated remedies for infants and children. They are one of the only brands I know and trust for safe effective relief for children under and over the age of 4. Little remedies kindly sent me an assortment of their products to review along with their new Little Colds Honey Elixir and Little Fevers fever and pain reliever.
I'm excited to be able to tell you about their new cough and cold products Little Colds honey elixir soothes Coughs and sore throats naturally for children 12 months and older with no alcohol , saccharin or dyes and it is also gluten free. Colds are a common thing in this house with 2 kids it seems like once one gets better the other one gets sick and it doesn't help its cold and rainy here 80% of the time but I always hated watching my youngest dealing with a cough when there was nothing I could do to help soothe it since cough and cold medicines aren't suitable for children under 2. I was very excited to learn there is now something I can give her to help her and it works great she has had a cough off and on for the past week it was the perfect chance to try the new honey elixir and it really helped she didn't refuse to take it and was able to sleep without waking up coughing and I don't have to worry about it being bad for her.
Little Remedies has also came out with Little Fevers fever and pain reliever it to contains no alcohol, saccharin, dyes and is gluten free but unlike the honey elixir it is one of their medicated remedies it contains acetaminophen and is safe for infants under doctors instruction. Tylenol or acetaminophen as it is called and Ibuprofen are one of the few items I always have on hand you never know when your child will wake up in the middle of the night with a fever I know i have had countless nights of waking up to feverish children. I am very happy little remedies has came out with a safer version of fever and pain reliever that doesn't unnecessary ingredients like saccharin.
Another thing I always have on hand is Saline It is a lifesaver for those nights your children cant sleep because of a stuffy nose or your babies have a hard time nursing or bottle feeding because they cant breath. Little Remedies has a few different Saline products called Little Noses They have a saline mist, spray and drops and they also have a medicated nasal decongestant for children over 2. I like the stuffy nose kit because it comes with a nasal aspirator I cant tell you how many I have had and lost its nice to keep some back ups handy so your not searching everywhere in the middle of the night .
When my children were babies I always had Gas relief medicines on hand I still keep a bottle around in the off chance i may need to use it. Little Remedies has two different kinds of gas relief products called Little Tummy's one of my favorites is called Gripe water it is a herbal supplement formulated to relief colic, hiccups and upset stomach and is safe for babies and children. My other go to gas relief is their medicated Gas relief drops it is safe for infants and children. It is Alcohol free, Saccharin free, Dye free and has no artificial flavors or harmful preservatives.
Being in the Military we travel quite often I was very excited to find out Little Remedies has a baby travel kit complete with Saline Spray, Gas Drops, Medicine Dropper, Saf T Pops, Teethers Gel Aspirator, Nail Clipper. Its perfect to keep in the diaper bag or car and would make a great baby shower gift it has everything a new or experienced mom could need for her new bundle of joy.
