Shake hands with a hero

To be honest this is the most important post I have written in the year I have been blogging and there aren't words to express how I feel about the brave men and woman who serve our country. I have not always been a military wife but being one has really opened my eyes as to how much they do and how much they sacrifice to protect our freedom.

Growing up I never thought I would end up being a military wife it was literally the last thing that I thought I would be not because I didn't want to be because I didn't think I had what it takes and to be honest and I still don't. We are just coming up on our first deployment and I am scared to death not because I will have to carry on alone but because my husband will be in harms way. Yeah having to do everything by myself is going to be really tough but there is nothing that can go on here that even compares to what my husband will be going through. I have a million different things going through my mind right now and a feeling of uncertainty but I know we will make it through it stronger than before.

It is a selfless sacrifice all of the men and women of our nations military make, To serve their country and there families the best they can, To not know what tomorrow might bring if tomorrow even comes. I am very proud to be apart of this awesome campaign because I know how much a simple thank you means to us even though it isn't expected it is highly appreciated.
You can show your gratitude by joining us and shake a hero's hand at honoringourheroes.com

You can also help my tweeting this campaign!: "You can virtually shake a soldier’s hand to thank him/her for their service! Help us send 50K thank-yous! Just click here: http://bit.ly/hDm6zY #ShakeHandsWithAHero"

Procter & Gamble (P&G) and Kroger and its family of stores have partnered together to support the USO – an organization that provides an extensive range of programs at more than 150 centers in 27 countries and at hundreds of entertainment events each year to support the morale, welfare, social and entertainment needs of troops and their families, free of charge – in its mission to help American troops and their families. Through the partnership Kroger will donate $250,000 to the USO.

As part of the partnership Kroger and P&;G have created an opportunity to let consumers virtually “shake hands with a hero” – the proper custom to show your gratitude to US soldiers in uniform to thank them for their service to our country. The first 50,000 people who utilize the microsite application (at http://www.honoringourheroes.com/) to shake a soldier’s hand will receive a coupon (loaded to their Kroger Plus Card) for $1 off P&G products.
